International Conference on Competition Policy The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the JFTC held a one and half day public conference stock taking recent competition policy developments in Southeast Asian economies at the ADB Manila headquarters from 11 to 12 January, 2010. Policy makers from competition agencies and relevant government agencies in the region were invited. 3. The 31st Bilateral Competition Consultations with the DOJ and the FTC The 31st Bilateral Competition Consultations with the Department of JusticeiDOJj and the Federal Trade CommissioniFTCjtook place on 20 January, 2010 at the DOJ headquarters in Washington D.C. The Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division of the DOJ, Ms. Christine A. Varney and the Chairman of the FTC, Mr. Jon Leibowitz participated in the consultations and discussed with the Chairman of the JFTC, Mr. Kazuhiko Takeshima on recent legislative and policy developments in both countries. 4. Economic Partnership Agreements [Japan- Peru] The 5th round of negotiation for the Competition Chapter of the Japan- Peru Economic Partnership Agreement was held in Lima, Peru, on 1 February, 2010. III.
