Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) filed today a criminal accusation with the Public Prosecutor-General against Taisei Corporation, Kajima Corporation, Obayashi Corporation and Shimizu Corporation, which are called “ Super 4 “, because they are four biggest construction companies in Japan in terms of turnover, and two executives in charge of sales activities for concerned bids in Taisei and Kajima.

JFTC found that the four construction companies had agreed to designate successful bidders and to bid at prices allowing the designated successful bidders to win construction of new terminal stations for maglev railway, which will enable to link Tokyo and Nagoya for only about 40minutes, ordered by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). Based on the agreement, they designated successful bidders for each construction of terminal stations and exchanged information regarding price quotations to the bids.
