July 3, 2019
Japan Fair Trade Commission

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) today has issued a warning to Akita-kita Agricultural Cooperative (JA Akita-kita) and Honke-Hinaijidori Co., Ltd. (Honke-Hinaijidori). In this case, JA Akita-kita and Honke-Hinaijidori could be in violation of the provision of the Article 19 (falling under the Item 12 [Trading on Restrictive Terms] of the Designation of Unfair Trade Practices) of the Antimonopoly Act (AMA).

JFTC alleges that JA Akita-kita and Honke-Hinaijidori had been likely to trade with producers of Hinai-Jidori Chicken, who are members of JA Akita-kita, on conditions that the producers ship Hinai-Jidori Chickens they produced only to Honke-Hinaijidori, etc.
