Approval of the Commitment Plan submitted by Genky Stores, Inc.

In response to the Notice of Commitment Procedures which the Japan Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter referred to as the “JFTC”) issued to Genky Stores, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “Genky Stores”) on May 29, 2020 because the JFTC suspected that activities by Genky Stores violated the Article 19 (Unfair Trade Practices stipulated in the Article 2, Paragraph (9), Item (v) [Abuse of Superior Bargaining Position]) of the Antimonopoly Act, Genky Stores made an Application for Commitment Approval. The JFTC recognized that the Commitment Plan would conform to the Approval Requirements and approved it today.

Note that this Approval of the Commitment Plan does not represent the determination that the activities of Genky Stores constituted the violation of the Antimonopoly Act.


*Genky Stores, Inc. is a drugstore headquartered in Fukui Prefecture,which sells medicines, food and daily necessities.
