Today, the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) issued cease and desist orders and surcharge payment orders against participants in bidding for specific uniforms for police officers ordered by Yamagata Prefecture.
These participants violated the Article 3 of the Antimonopoly Act. The total amount of the surcharge is 1.41 million yen.

The JFTC found that these participants substantially restrained competition in the fields of the above specific uniforms for police officers by, in concert with one another, designating prospective bidders.

Additionally, The JFTC urged that Yamagata prefecture should implement improvement measures to manage the system of ordering uniforms for police officers, as these participants won the bids for nearly the target prices.
