Approval of the Commitment Plan submitted by Alcon Japan

 In response to the notice which the Japan Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter referred to as the “JFTC”) issued to Alcon Japan Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Alcon Japan”) in accordance with the Commitment Procedures on January 7, 2021, Alcon Japan made an application for approval of the JFTC. The JFTC investigated Alcon Japan and suspected that activities of Alcon Japan violated the Article 19 (note) of the Antimonopoly Act.
 (note) Unfair Trade Practices stipulated in Paragraph 12, [Trading on Restrictive Terms] of the Antimonopoly Act.
 
 The JFTC, after considering the application, recognized that the commitment plan of Alcon Japan would conform to the requirements and approved it today.
 
 This approval of the commitment plan does not represent the determination that the activities of Alcon Japan constituted the violation under the Antimonopoly Act.
