Today, the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) issued cease and desist orders and surcharge payment orders against (1) participants in bidding for personal computers for school staff and for information technology educational use ordered by Hiroshima Prefecture, (2) participants in bidding for specific personal computers and managed local area network servers ordered by City of Hiroshima.

The JFTC found that these participants substantially restrained competition in the fields of those goods described above by, in concert with one another, designating prospective bidders.

These participants violated Article 3 of the Antimonopoly Act. The total amount of the surcharge is 56.82 million yen.
