The Roles of G7 Competition Authorities Under Social and Economic Shifts

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) will host a G7 Joint Competition Enforcers and Policy Makers Summit on November 8, 2023 in Tokyo in cooperation with Secretariat of Digital Market Competition Headquarters, Cabinet Headquarters, Cabinet Secretariat to facilitate international efforts to promote competitive markets and effective competition law enforcement.
 
On November 9, 2023, the day after the Summit, Competition Policy Research Center will host a symposium as the side event of the Summit, since it is a rare opportunity for the tops or equivalent officials of competition authorities of the G7 and the European Commission to gather together.
 
At this symposium, they will have panel discussions on two topics;
  "Enforcement and Regulation in the midst of Full-fledged Digitalized Economy: Trends of Active Efforts by Competition Authorities"
 "Dynamisms of Merger Regulation: Tracking the Focus by Competition Authorities"
  These panel discussions will focus on the status of these authorities' efforts on enforcement and regulation in the middle of digitalized economy and merger regulation.
