Komiya who is one of the famous economists who had done a large contribution to the development of modern economics in Japan. The purpose of this interview is to review and evaluate the merger case which were well known as one of the biggest merger case in Japan, Yawata Iron Steel Co. and Fuji Iron Steel Co. In the interview, Pr. Komiya also mentioned the historical progress of Japanese competition policy and its conflict with industry policy.
