Japan Fair Trade Commission
The Training Course for China on the Antimonopoly Act and Competition Policy will be held by Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC)in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan from November 4
to 28, 2008.
In China,a comprehensive competition law was enforced in August 2008. As a background, deepening economic revolution has been set as one of the crucial policies since the 9th Five-Year Plan (1996-2000) and China has rapidly proceeded with the developments of establishing economic laws and cooperate laws after joining a member of the WTO in 2001.
Under such circumstances, the training course will be held to provide officials of competition related authorities in China with an opportunity to obtain the knowledge on Japan’s Antimonopoly Act and its implementation, with the purpose of contributing to the developments of competition legislations and the proper and steady implementation of competition law and policy in China.
In addition, the JFTC have contributed to the establishment of China’s Antimonopoly Act to some extent, by holding the training course ten times from 1998 to 2007,which is a comprehensive training program concerning competition law and policy, using the JICA’s scheme for technical assistance, according to the request by the Chinese Government.
