The JFTC holds the 18th Training Course for Developing Countries on Competition Law and Policy

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) will hold the 18th Training Course for Developing Countries on the Competition Law and Policy from August 16 to September 14 in Tokyo and Hyogo, in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

In recent years, more developing countries have introduced or enhanced their competition laws. This training course is mainly targeted at officials of younger competition authorities to enhance their capacity. The training course consists of lectures about Japan’s Antimonopoly Act and competition policy.

The JFTC has held the training course almost every year with the JICA since 1994.

  1. Period: August 16 to September 14, 2012
  2. Venue: JFTC (Tokyo) and JICA Kansai International Center(Hyogo)
  3. Organizers: JFTC and JICA
  4. Participants: 10 officials from competition related authorities in 7 countries
  5. Content: Lectures by academians on the Antimonopoly Act and competition policy, lectures by the JFTC staff on investigation procedures and techniques, Case study and others
