The JFTC issued Cease and Desist Order against Adidas Japan KK

The JFTC today issued a cease and desist order against Adidas Japan KK (adidas AG’s affiliated company in Japan).The JFTC found that Adidas Japan KK had caused retailers to sell toning shoes called EASYTONE at the designated retail price that Adidas Japan KK fixed.

Before issuing the cease and desist order,the JFTC had given the enterprise in question an advance notification on the content of the order and an opportunity to present its view and to submit evidence. Considering the view and evidence from the enterprise, the JFTC issued the order. The recipient dissatisfied with the order may request the JFTC to initiate a hearing regarding the order within sixty days of the date on which the transcript of the order was served.
