JFTC Holds the Training Course for Indonesian Competition Authority

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) will hold the training course for the Indonesian competition authority (Kosimi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha (KPPU)) on the Antimonopoly Act and competition policy from June 13 to 21, 2013 in Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe, in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Since the competition law was in effect in September 2000, the KPPU has worked on reinforcing its implementation of the competition law as an independent governmental agency. In last December, the Chairman and the commissioners of the KPPU were newly appointed for the term of 2012 to 2017.

Under such circumstances, the training course takes place to provide newly-appointed Chairman and Commissioners of the KPPU with opportunities to obtain the knowledge on the Antimonopoly Act and its enforcement, with the purpose of supporting the enhancement of competition legislation and law enforcement in Indonesia. The JFTC has held the series of training courses for the staff of the KPPU since 2003.

1. Period: June 13-21, 2013
2.Venue: JFTC offices (Tokyo and Osaka) and JICA Kansai International Center(Kobe)
3. Participants: Chairman, 8 Commissioners and 2 officials of the KPPU
4. Organizers: JFTC and JICA
5. Contents: Lectures by academians on the Antimonopoly Act and competition policies;lectures by JFTC officials on investigation procedures and techniques, etc.
