The JFTC dispatches its official as a long-term expatriate expert to the Indonesian Competition Authority

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) will dispatch its official as a long-term expatriate expert to the Indonesian competition authority (Kosimi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha (KPPU)), in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Indonesian competition law has been enforced since 2000. The Partnership law including regulation concerning subcontracts with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has come into force since 2008. KPPU was given the authority to supervise stipulated in the Partnership law in 2013.
The purpose of this dispatch is to support effective enforcement of the Partnership law and reinforcement of the competition law framework in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the JFTC had dispatched its officials as long-term expatriate experts to the KPPU three times since April 2001 until March 2003, since July 2004 until July 2007 and since October 2009 until June 2012. The experts worked for technical assistance to the KPPU.

1. Period(expected): July 25, 2016- July 24 2018

2. Recipient organization: Indonesian Competition Authority(KPPU)

3. Main activities:

To hold training courses on the Subcontract Act in Japan or Indonesia
To support advocacy activities concerning the Partnership law
To hold training course on enhancing the enforcement of the competition law in cross-border cases

*The dispatched expatriate expert and KPPU will discuss about implementing effective technical assistant and decide concrete contents of activities.
