The Japan Fair Trade Commission Concluded Cooperation Arrangement with the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter, “JFTC”), on 15th of March, 2017 in Tokyo, concluded Cooperation Arrangement with the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection (hereinafter, “AFCCP”), which is the competition authority of Mongolia. The signers and outline of this Arrangement are as follows

1. Signers

The JFTC: Mr. Kazuyuki Sugimoto, Chairman
The AFCCP: Mr. Lkhagva Byambasuren, Chairman

2. Outline

(1) Purpose

This arrangement establishes a framework for constructive cooperation between both competition authorities and provides for the details concerning the implementation of the Implementing Agreement pursuant to Agreement between Japan and Mongolia for an Economic Partnership (hereinafter referred to as “the Implementing Agreement”).

(2) Exchange of Information

Each competition authority will endeavor to exchange and provide information in relation to significant developments in competition policies and the enforcement of competition laws, experiences on the enforcement of competition laws, etc., when appropriate.

(3) Meeting

Each competition authority will hold periodic meetings, as necessary, to exchange information on their current enforcement efforts and priorities in relation to the competition laws of each country, etc.

(4) Implementing Joint Projects and Programs

Each competition authority will implement joint projects and programs on technical assistance and/or capacity building of the AFCCP as technical cooperation provided in the Implementing Agreement.
