Japan Fair Trade Commission

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) today issued cease and desist orders and surcharge payment orders to the constructers participating in bidding for (1) the two-layer type low-noise paving works ordered by Tokyo Metropolitan Government (2) the paving works (construction, improvement and repair works for the container berth etc.) ordered by Tokyo Port Terminal Corporation (3) the paving works ordered by Narita International Airport Corporation. The total amount of the surcharge to be paid is 770.65 million yen.

JFTC found that those constructers substantially restricted competition in the fields of the above paving works by designating successful bidders and enabling those bidders to win the biddings.
