Approval of the Commitment Plan submitted by BMW Japan Corp.

March 12, 2021
Japan Fair Trade Commission

In response to the Notice of Commitment Procedures which the Japan Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter referred to as the “JFTC”) issued to BMW Japan Corp. (hereinafter referred to as “BMW Japan”) on December 14, 2020,   because the JFTC suspected that activities by BMW Japan violated the Article 19 (Unfair Trade Practices stipulated in the Article 2, Paragraph (9), Item (v) [Abuse of Superior Bargaining Position]) of the Antimonopoly Act, BMW Japan made an Application for Commitment Approval. The JFTC recognized that the Commitment Plan would conform to the Approval Requirements and approved it today.

Note that this Approval of the Commitment Plan does not represent the determination that the activities of BMW Japan constituted the violation of the Antimonopoly Act.
