The Economic Analysis using new indices concerning market structure:Using market concentration data

FTC conducted an empirical analysis on the determination of firm's profits and price changes. The explanatory variables using in this analysis are including the buyer concentration and the ranking/share fluctuation indices, which were newly calculated using FTC's data of market concentration and market share.
The main outcomes of this analysis were as follows:

 i) the stronger the buyer, the lower the seller's profit
 ii) the larger the fluctuation of firm's share, the lower the profit and price tended to decrease.
