Relocation of the JFTC Headquarters

Today, I would like to provide an overview of the relocation of the JFTC Headquarters.

The JFTC Headquarters has been located in the Central Government Building No. 6 in Kasumigaseki. Beginning on December 15, it will be relocated in phases to the “Toranomon Alcea Tower” in Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

The relocation of the JFTC Headquarters is planned as part of the government’s adjustment plan for the use of office space in central ministries and agencies, which aims to address the shortage of administrative office space. Under the redevelopment project for the Toranomon 2-chome area—an integrated redevelopment of the National Printing Bureau site, Toranomon Hospital, and the Kyodo News Building—the floor space returned to the government by the National Printing Bureau is being utilized as a new joint government building for central ministries and agencies.

In addition to the JFTC, the Toranomon Alcea Tower will be used as the Toranomon Government Building, to which the National Personnel Authority, the Personal Information Protection Commission, and the Food Safety Commission of Japan will also be relocated.

As all JFTC bureaus and departments currently located on the 8th through 19th floors of the Central Government Building No. 6 will be relocating, the move will be carried out in stages from mid-December 2025 to early February 2026.

A “Notice of Headquarters Relocation” has been posted on the top page of its Japanese website since October 31. In addition, beginning Friday, the 21st of this week, information on the planned relocation and the new headquarters address will also be provided on the webpages that introduce our consultation and reporting services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during the relocation period and kindly ask for your understanding. If you plan to visit the JFTC during this period, please contact the relevant division in advance to confirm which building you should visit.
