The JFTC provides the 5th Training Course on the Antimonopoly Act and Competition Policy for Indonesia

The 5th Training Course on the Antimonopoly Act and Competition Policy for Indonesia will be held by the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Tokyo and Nagoya, Japan, from March 3 to 21, 2008.
In Indonesia, the Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition, called KPPU (Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha),which is an independent competition authority, has addressed promoting competition policy and strengthening the competition law since 2000 when the competition law was established.
The JFTC has contributed to the implementation of the competition law and policy in Indonesia,by holding the training course from 2003 and dispatching JFTC’s staff as a long-term expert to the KPPU from 2001 to 2007. Such contribution has been carried out through the utilization of the JICA’s scheme for technical assistance in response to the request by the Indonesian Government.

The training course will be held to provide officials of the KPPU with an opportunity to obtain the knowledge on Japan’s Antimonopoly Act and its implementation, with the purpose of contributing to the proper and steady implementation of the competition law and policy in Indonesia.
