The U.S. Federal Trade Commission, which in six years will mark the 100th anniversary of its establishment, is now undertaking a self-assessment to consider what type of institution it should aspire to be when the Commission’s second century begins in 2014. As part of the project the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC)and the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) will co-host, on October 7th in Tokyo, a roundtable entitled “FTC-JFTC Roundtable on the Federal Trade Commission at 100 :
Japanese Perspectives”.

Date : Tuesday, October 7, 2008 10:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Venue: JFTC large conference room (11th floor of the JFTC building)
Agenda: 1. Assessing the Effectiveness of the Federal Trade Commission
2. The Federal Trade Commission’s Enforcement, Advocacy and Research Agenda
3. The Federal Trade Commission’s International Agenda
Participants: FTC (Chairman Kovacic and others), JFTC (Chairman Takeshima and others), university professors and private practitioners

The roundtable is open to the public, but pre-registration is required.
