The 5th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy and the 5th East Asia Top Level Officials' Meeting on Competition Policy

In cooperation with the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection, Mongolia (AFCCP) and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) will hold the 5th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy and the 5th East Asia Top Level Officials’ Meeting on Competition Policy in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy is organized for the purpose of developing a common understanding on importance of competition law and policy in the East Asian region. The East Asia Top Level Officials’ Meeting on Competition Policy is organized for the purpose of strengthening the cooperative relationship among competition authorities/competition related authorities through frank exchange of views and information among the top level officials of competition authorities/competition related authorities.
This year, 13 authorities in East Asian region will participate in the conference and the meeting.

1. Date: The 5th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy June 29th (Mon), 2009
The 5th East Asia Top Level Officials’ Meeting on Competition Policy June 30th (Tue), 2009

2. Venue: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

3. Participant: Top level officials of competition authorities/competition related authorities in the East Asian region (please see Appendix.) As for the East Asia Conference, representatives from industrial sector, academia, etc. will also take part. From the JFTC, Chairman Takeshima, etc. will participate in the conference and the meeting.
