Japan Fair Trade Commission
The Training Course for Vietnam on the Antimonopoly Act and Competition Policy will be held in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan by Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
In Vietnam, where the economy has recently been rapidly growing, the competition law was enforced in July 2005. The Vietnam competition authority is actively developing its system by, for example, increasing the number of staff year by year. However in the course of full operation of the competition law, it faces various problems, such as little execution experience, insufficient organizational system and poor knowledge and consciousness about competition among general population.
Under such circumstances, the JFTC has held technical transfer seminars for the Vietnam competition authority in collaboration with JICA for the purpose of assisting capacity building concerning implementation of the competition policy and law. In addition, the JFTC has dispatched one of its staff as a JICA specialist to the Vietnam competition authority since September 2008.
This training course will be held as part of technical assistances for Vietnam competition authority with the purpose of providing the knowledge and experience of Japan’s Antimonopoly Act itself and its implementation, and contributing to the
developments of competition legislations and the proper and steady implementation of competition law in Vietnam.
