Japan Fair Trade Commission
The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) today issued cease and
desist orders and surcharge payment orders to the participants in
bidding for the specific construction works ordered by the City of Osaki
and so on, and Miyagi Prefecture. The total amount of the surcharge to
be paid is 25.03 million yen.
JFTC found that those participants substantially restricted competition
in the fields of the above works by designating successful bidders and
enabling those bidders to win the biddings.
JFTC also requested Miyagi Prefecture to take necessary measures,
such as revising the current manual for preventing bid rigging, so as to
handle the information on bid rigging appropriately.
