Japan Fair Trade Commission
The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) today issued cease and desist order and surcharge payment order to KOA ISEI Co., LTD.(hereinafter “KOA ISEI”). The total amount of the surcharge to be paid is 1.37 million yen.
JFTC found that KOA ISEI and Nippon Chemiphar CO., LTD substantially restrained competition in the field of selling Generic Lanthanum Carbonate OD, by agreeing to set a target for wholesale price of said generic drug.
＊“Generic Lanthanum Carbonate OD” is the generic drug of Lanthanum Carbonate Hydrate Orally-Disintegrating Tablets used as hyperphosphatemia treatment.
