Report from SEVEN-ELEVEN JAPAN ceasing Product Guide Production Fee in PB manufacturing contract

Report from SEVEN-ELEVEN JAPAN ceasing Product Guide Production Fee in PB manufacturing contract

December 22, 2022
Japan Fair Trade Commission

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (the "JFTC") announced that it would not take any further action against SEVEN ELEVEN JAPAN CO., LTD.(“SE”) because the JFTC confirmed, in light of the recommendation by the JFTC to SE's business partners for breaching the Subcontract Act on 9 September, 2022, that SE had voluntarily stopped collecting the " creation fee of product guide "* for its PB manufacturing contract.

The JFTC will continuously work to ensure that transactions throughout the supply chain are appropriate.

* SE, when launching new or renewal products, created a product guide to recommend sales of the products and referred to the cost of distributing the guide to each of SE's stores as a "creation fee of product guide".
