The Japan Fair Trade Commission Concluded Memorandum on Cooperation with the Bangladesh Competition Commission

The Japan Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter, “JFTC”), on 21st of April, 2025, in Tokyo, concluded Memorandum on Cooperation (hereinafter, “MoC”) with the Bangladesh Competition Commission (hereinafter, “BCC”) (hereinafter collectively referred to as “both Sides”), which is the competition authority of Bangladesh. The signers and outline of this MoC are as follows:

1. Signers

JFTC: Mr. Kazuyuki Furuya, Chair
 BCC: Mr. A.H.M. Ahsan, Chairperson


2. Outline

(1) Purpose of Cooperation

The purpose of this Memorandum is to contribute to the effective enforcement of the competition law of each country through the development of cooperative relationship between both Sides.

(2) Exchange of Information

Both Sides will cooperate in providing the other Side with information relevant to the enforcement of the competition law by the other Side and exchanging experiences on the enforcement of the competition law of each country.

(3) Technical Cooperation

Both Sides will cooperate in exchanging of personnel and dispatching of lecturers of the Sides for training purposes.

(4) Confidentiality

Both Side will maintain the confidentiality of any information provided to it by the other Side and the information will not be used for any other purpose and will not be used in criminal proceedings carried out by a court or a judge of the country of the receiving Side.
