JFTC surveillance on business-to-consumer electronic commerce

In August, 2002, the JFTC entrusted 50 consumers with business- to-consumer electronic-commerce surveillance,starting the operation of the "B toC E-commerce surveillance system".

The surveillants has reported 508 websites to be inapporpriate in the period of August to December 2002.

The JFTC sent e-mails to 108 sites out of 508 sites reported in order to instruct the administrators of the sites to comply with the Premiums and Representations Act.
