JFTC holds second Technical Training Course on the Antimonopoly Act and Competition Policy for Indonesia

2. Backgrounds
In Indonesia, since the enactment of the Competition Act (the Act of Prohibition of Monopoly and Unfair Business Competition) in the year 2000, KPPU has worked on implementation of the Competition Act as independent government authority.
Under this circumstance, the Indonesian Government takes a great interest in the JFTC’s experience concerning the Antimonopoly Act and competition policy, and asks advice on the Indonesian competition act and its enforcement. In response to their needs, the JFTC is scheduled to hold the Training Cource for officials of KPPU once every year from FY2003 to FY2005.

3. Purpose and Effect of the Training Course
We hope that the Training Course will be an opportunity of getting knowledge of Antimonopoly Act and its implementation and be useful for effective enforcement of the competition laws in Indonesia.
