The 34th bilateral meeting on competition policy took place among the JFTC, the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division (USDOJ) and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (USFTC) in Tokyo. Three agencies exchanged their views over a broad range of competition-related matters including recent development and enforcement updates, recent efforts in medical and social welfare sector, and international cooperation. The meeting was attended by JFTC Chairman Kazuyuki Sugimoto, USDOJ Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division William J. Baer, USFTC chairwoman Edith Ramirez and other officials from the agencies.
