The JFTC held the 33rd bilateral meeting with the European Commission on 13th December. The JFTC chairman Kazuyuki Sugimoto, EC commissioner Margrethe Vestager and other officials from each agency attended. This time, it was the first trial that top executives of both agencies had meeting through video telephone conference system and discussed exchange of views on competition law enforcement in the digital economy and amendment of agreement of Japan and the European Community concerning cooperation on anticompetitive activities.
