As part of its technical cooperation activities, the JFTC held a training course for the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC), in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), providing lectures and Q&A sessions on the JFTC's initiatives related to case investigation, merger review procedures, and the regulation of abuse of superior bargaining position.
Regarding this training program, the FCCC expressed interest in using Japan’s initiatives as a reference for education on competition policy in Fiji. In response to this request, the JFTC arranged for the FCCC officials to observe “Antimonopoly Act classes” conducted by the JFTC officials at the high school and the university, and the FCCC official also gave a presentation for Japanese students on that occasion.
