Today, the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) issued the cease and desist order and the surcharge payment order to TORII PHARMACEUTICAL CO., LTD. (“TORII PHARMACEUTICAL”).
TORII PHARMACEUTICAL violated the Article 3 of the Antimonopoly Act. The total amount of the surcharge is 2.87 million yen.
The JFTC found that TORII PHARMACEUTICAL and Nippon Chemiphar Co., Ltd. substantially restrained competition in the field of selling CALVAN Tablets, by agreeing to set a target for wholesale price of said branded medicines.
