Recommendation against Sanden Corporation under the Subcontract Act

　The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) today issued a recommendation against Sanden Corporation (Sanden) for violating the Subcontract Act.

　The JFTC found that Sanden had unjustly harmed the interests of its 61 subcontractors by requiring them to store metallic dies and jigs for a long time without compensation.

　This conduct falls under “unfair request to provide economic gains” in Article 4, paragraph 2, item 3 of the Subcontract Act. The JFTC recommended that Sanden resolve not to engage in the similar conduct and improve its compliance program.
