JFTC Reviews the Proposed Acquisition of Shares of Japan Marine United Corporation by Imabari Shipbuilding Co., LTD.

  The Japan Fair Trade Commission（hereinafter referred to as the “JFTC”）has reviewed the proposed acquisition of shares in Japan Marine United Corporation (JCN 8020001076641) (hereinafter referred to as “JMU”) by Imabari Shipbuilding Co., LTD. (JCN 7500001011179) (hereinafter referred to as “Imabari Shipbuilding”; and JMU and Imabari Shipbuilding are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Parties”) (hereinafter referred to as the “Transaction”).
  As a result of the review, based on the premise that the Parties would implement their proposed remedies, the JFTC concluded that the Transaction would not substantially restrain competition in any particular field of trade. Accordingly, the JFTC has notified Imabari Shipbuilding that the JFTC will not issue a cease and desist order.
